Our recollections date back to the end of the 1800's from when there is data that the parents of Joaquín Martiínez Soto presided over a business in the old Calle de Las Morenas (today Ramón Auñon).

This business was inherited by his son Joaquín who continued with the trade of tans and harnesses.

On November 28th 1951 due to the premature death of Joaquín Martinez it was his widow who continued with the business, until a year later their nephew Manuel Acosta, at the age of 15, headed the company. In 1991 a company was formed with his wife and children, until in 2001, the year of his death at the age of 65, his children José and Isabel carried it on.

Originally the business' activity consisted in the commerce of articles related to shoes and the sale of hides.

Some articles from that era are: balls of twine, bars of lújar wax, calf skin bends, aeroplane rubber, rough cuts, ladies work boots, retolaza protectors, thicket hairs, lerna stems, tensing hammers, Moroccan leather, carioca calf skin, etc (source: inventory 1952)
